The prickly pear, or so-called fig tree (Opuntia ficus-indica), is a plant in which the Mediterranean area has consumed its fruits. In Latin American countries, such as Mexico, their shovels are also consumed. The plant is part of the Aztec mythology, in which it is considered as the plant of life, since it apparently never dies, since when dried can give life to a new plant.
